How does mother hen nurse her chicks and what with if they is no **** for them? is the big oat flakes for the big chickens and the instant oats for baby chicks? why do they eat anyway when they get neck rung in the long run. |
Not sure if you are being serious asking about t its. Chickens are not mammals so there is NO mammalian glands for chicks to suck on.

I think my dog may have "milk fever". However, after I removed the pups from nursing, her **** have gotten swollen and hard. She still want to nurse which makes me think she may not have "milk fever". Could there be something else wrong? Weekend and cannot get her to vet till Monday. HELP |

new mom has 12 (2 days ago)
will old moms **** hurt so mutch that she will be glad to help nurse this litter ? |
| Just put the other female mouse in with the nursing litter and they shouold help eachother. Are the 23day olds separated by sex? They need to be or they will breed... |
My mini schnauzer ,first litter , pupies are nursing on same 4 ****,the other **** are engorged what can i do? Her breasts are really full and her nipples look like they are smushed in, when i squeeze them a little milk comes out but when we put puppies up to nipple they go right over it and directly to the 4 nipples they've been feeding with and my dog looks miserable. Should I be worried? What should I do? Please help |
Yes, you should be worried - your b*tch is in the first stages of mastitis because apparently you didn't do enough RESEARCH to understand that you should have been putting the pups on the other nipples and rotating them from birth.
At this point - consult your vet. He may want you to do a warm compress to the engorged t3ats (ridiculous that Y!A denies the use of the correct, adult term), he may want the b*tch on antibiotics, he may want you to monitor them - it all depends on the severity of the situation which cannot be diagnosed via computer.
Mastitis can kill. Both dam and pups are in jeopardy if this infection sets in.
At the very least you should be monitoring her temperature and reporting that to the vet. |
How many **** is a dog supposed to have? Please dont laugh as this is a serious question. We have breed double registered husky and malamute puppies for years, but this last year has been full of surprises.
Our pregnant malamute, due in 10 days, has 9 nipples. 9? 4 on one side and 5 on the other. This is very odd to me. She also has two very small bumps behind the first two nipple sets. (that doesnt worry me as I have seen many females with those, they go away after nursing)
Maybe I have just never noticed before, but 9 nipples seems odd as I can swear its always been even numbers up and down each side. I have heard the old wives tail about how many nipples equals how many puppies, but never once has it rang true.
I called my vet and they said thats nothing to bring her in for, he will see her after the birth (as long as nothing goes wrong)
Can someone tell me if this is normal? Please no downtalking or preaching, just want to hear from people that have heard of this or seen this before! |
| Definitely nothing to worry about. Probably a small genetic defect which will cause absolutely no problems. The 10th nipple may not have developed normally or an "extra" one may have developed. Once she has given birth, just be sure to check that ALL nipples are producing milk so if by chance there are 9 pups one isn't given the short end of the stick. |
Help dogs **** clear up after nursing pups are gone.? boxer dog had pups and nursed them for 6 weeks now pups are gone but mother s **** are very swollen and red, milk leaking belive her to be in some pain |
| It sounds like she needs to nurse a little longer. Take her to a vet. |
Is it ok for my dog to nurse a puppy that the mother wouldnt when she is 1 week away from giving birth herself? she is leaking milk from all **** and a clear fluid came out earlier but nothing is happing |
| I am kinda torn on one hand it would help her produce more milk for the puppies. On the other hand this puppy would get the Colestrum that the puppies need to help their immune system. Call and ask a vet. |
My dogs **** are to full of milk, what can I do? She had puppies 5 weeks ago but she stopped feeding them almost 2wks. ago.She was all raw & scratched up,even bleeding in spots. The puppies are fine with formula & puppy food but she has steady streams coming out & I know it's hurting her. We tried holding her down to let the smallest ones nurse a couple of times but that's not helping. Is there anything I can do to relieve some of the pressure, and ease her pain ?? |
| How about a vet BYB! |
How can you tell whether if a dog is nursing its pups or not? How can you tell whether if a dog is nursing its pups or not? must a dog have as many **** as pups to ensure that the pups won't go hungry? and... is it possible that a pregnant dog does not have any milk even when its **** are huge? |
| If you observe the litter, you will be able to tell if they are being fed....the ones that are fed are calm & content....w/full bellies....the ones that are not getting enough milk, will be loud and restless...hungry...you can say teats on here. That's what they milk comes from....teats. Milk is what causes the size, so usually dog do have enough milk. Even if they have 10 puppies they can do it....they are made that way. |
