| goto the computer in question, 1 - left click start button 2 - right click my computer 3 - select properties 4 - click hardware tab 5 - click device manager browes the list for a item that implies camera or video camera. to check for a file saved click start, then search then select pictures, or videos then check the video box then for the "look in" choose my computer. then click search, it will list all videos on that machine. |

| I rent the CountourHD to people going skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, kayaking, rafting, etc. It has several options for connecting to helmets, goggle straps, and handlebars. The video quality is really good, but if you want the battery to last the longest, you can shoot in 720p and capture up to two hours of video on a 4GB Micro SD card. The battery will last about two hours in that mode also. Two hours is a lot of footage. You can easily capture all of the highlights of a day out in two hours. When I am using it myself, I have an 8GB card and a spare battery, so I can get up to 4 hours in 720p or around two hours in 1080p. The Go Pro is another good camera, but when you have it strapped to the top of your helmet, you look like a Teletubby. It sounds vain, but that was my main deciding factor in going with the Contour over the Go Pro. I figured it would be easier to rent out a cool looking helmet cam. The ContourHD comes with a 2GB memory card. That's not really big enough. I would suggest getting an 8GB card and probably a spare battery. It comes with a hard surface mount and a goggle strap mount. If you want to attach it to a bike helmet, you will need to get the vented helmet strap. There is also a headband strap available that you can use without a helmet. There is also a waterproof case that I use when renting it for use in watersports. You should be able to find the CountourHD on Ebay for less that $250USD. With all of the accessories you will need, it will probably be more like $300+ total. |
